Okay so, my name is Maggi and like 99% of women, I have a bajillion titles including, but not limited to, wife, mother, homeschool teacher, ballet mom, crocheter, artist, but my favorite title is Catholic.
Wow, I sound pretty amazing, right? If you really want a picture of who I am, take all those titles, now picture the most amazing Pinterest-er with the cleanest house, the most angelic children who homeschool on the front lawn, surrounded by nature and books of true literature, who listen to their Mother while she teaches them values, faith, strength, and calculus. Imagine a woman of great patience, eager to keep her home serene, her budget balanced and her family fed heartwarming meals of fresh grown ingredients. Got her pictured in your mind?
Great! Now picture the EXACT OPPOSITE of all of that and you've got me pretty well pegged. Ta da!
I jest of course. :P But chances are, if you're reading this, it means I haven't bothered vacuuming today and my kids probably had Hot Pockets for lunch. It's all good though. :) I love crochet, mixed media art, reading, video games, kdramas, basically I'm a crafty geek with an Anchorman sense of humor that still tears up at the end of (the 1995 BBC version of) Pride & Prejudice.
I converted to Catholicism during Easter Vigil 2016 so I am a baby. I know nothing, Jon Snow. lol I'm no theologian and have no clue what I'm doing. >.< There are a few reasons I converted and I hope to share more of my story in future posts (that I will link here once they're live).
Why The Lone Catholic?
Funny enough, I'm the only Catholic in the family (not technically but pretty much, more on that later). I am not a cradle Catholic, no one "evangelized" me, long story short: I started asking questions and here I am. I'm very happy within the Catholic Church but being the only one in my family can make the journey a bit lonely. I created this blog in hopes that I can make some Catholic friends to share this beautiful faith together.
